Where is Busan?


Busan is located southeasternmost tip of Korean Peninsula and is known as Pusan but now it is officially Busan Metropolitan City. It is the second most- populated city after Seoul. As an economic, cultural, and educational center of southeastern Korea, with its port, it is Korea's busiest and the 10th busiest city in the World.


Even though Busan is quite far from Seoul, busan has many Tourist attractions that even locals love to visit. The list below is places and things that visitors can do/visit while in Busan, South Korea.


How to get to Busan?

You can use airvan to get to Busan straight from the airport or take buses to get to Busan.



Taejongdae Recreation Park


Taejongdae was named after the 29th King of Silla Kingdom (57 BC-AD 935), King Taejong Mu-yeol (604-661). The King Taejong liked traveling around but this was the place that he enjoyed shooting arrows the most.

A rock which is under the lighthouse of the resort is called Sinseon Rock and was named after the myth that gods and goddesses came down here to relax. A figure on this rock is called Mangbuseok and was named after the story of a woman who waited for her husband who had been taken to Japan. Taejongdae is famous for the ritual praying for rain. When there were droughts, people would perform and rain on the 10th day of the fifth lunar month is called "Taejong Rain."


Taejongdae Recreation Park is one of the must visit places in Busan, Korea. Taejongdae is set on a cliff and is framed for its rock beach. The highest peak is 250 meters above the sea level, and there are forests of pine trees. Visitors can also do tour courses around the park that cater specifically to families and friends.

A Danbi Train runs across the park for quick sight-seeing as well.

Gamcheon Cultural Village


Gamcheon Cultural Village is a place you can get lost in easily for art and culture lovers. This village is built on a hill and filled with maze like alleys. THe views of the sea and the city below this village is amazing. 


The neighborhood is decorated with colorful murals and sculptures by the residents. Gamcheon Cultural Village is one of the pretty and interesting village with beautiful views. This also attracts so many artsy travelers.

Haeundae Beach


Haeundae Beach is one of the popular beaches in Korea. It is a the perfect setting of maximum beach bumming. Despite it being a popular public beach, you will see beautiful and clean, fine white sand that is well maintained.


Haeundae Beach also has plenty of water activities and sports you can do.

Busan Sand Festival happens in Haeundae.

Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) Square


Busan International Film Festival Square (BIFF) is a movie Street that is famous nationwide. The Busan International Film Festival started in 1996 and it used to be called as PIFF Square but was changed to BIFF when the English spelling of Busan changed.


Nampo-dong itself has been well known for Theater District in Busan before BIFF started. Over times, many movie theaters opened such as Sohwagwan, Busan Theater, Jeil Theater and Dongmyeong Theater and they all contributed to turning this place into the Street of Films. As you walk down the street, you will be reminded of many international movie actors, actresses and director with their hand prints on the ground.

It is located in between Jagalchi Market and International Market, the transient population that comes in and out the most.

Oryukdo Skywalk


The original name for Oryukdo Skywalk was Seungdumal, as the shape resembles a saddle. It was also called Seungduma (승두마), and Jallokgae (잘록개) by the residents and women divers.


The Oryukdo Skywalk was opened on October 18, 2013 with the theme of walking over the sky. The horseshoe-shaped bridge is set up against a 35 meter coastal cliff. The entire bridge is made of glass and you can watch the waves hit against from the cliff under you.

How to get to Oryukdo Skywalk

Subway Line 1, Busan Station, Exit 10 then take bus 27 and get off at Oryukdo SK View human (backgate). Walk to Oryukdo Skywalk.



Songdo Sky Walkway


The Songdo Sky walkway is located at the Songdo Beach which is merely 3 km from downtown of Busan. The name Songdo means "Pine island" in reference to its bordering groves of pine tree.


The Songdo Sky Walkway stretches for 800 meter. It starts at the Hyeon-in Square on Songdo Beach and ends at the Amnam Park. It takes about 40 minutes for a round trip and there are five observatories (glass-floored) and two cloud bridges.

This walkway was opened recently in June 2016. The walkway is 365 meter long and 2.3 wide. It is the nation's longest curved costal walkway. The visitors can totally feel like they are walking on the water.

Line 1, Jagalchi Station, Exit 2.

Take buses #7, 9, 26, 30, 71, and 96 to at station no.6, Songdo Beach then walk to Songdo Skywalk.
